Taking a break from the AI--how long??

I've been on Anastrozole for almost 2.5 years now and have done pretty well until recently. It might have something to do with this wacky past year but my joints seem to be significantly crankier lately. I've read some women take a break from their AI and it can help "reset" your body with respect to SEs. I will definitely wait until after my next mammo, but assuming that's clear, I'm thinking I'll take a little break. If you've done this, how long did you take off the meds? Do you think it helped?

I took a month off of Tamoxifen after 1.5 years on and yes it helped. Am considering doing it again sometime this year.
