My mother age 60 years found lumps in her right breast on 1st Feb 2021 and we immediately take her to hospital and did mammography, PET/CT scan and biopsy. After all the test it was clear that it was stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and has spread to her liver [ major portion of liver is filled with cancer ]. On advice of doctor we have done 2 chemo sessions on 6th Feb and 20th feb, while the next chemo is planned for 6th march. We came to know about immunotherapy [Dendritic cell therapy ] through you tube. Can anyone suggest me whether we should do immunotherapy while doing chemo. Doctor here in New Delhi have advised us to drop the idea as it is in clinical trials. Please suggest us.

I cannot really offer medical advice of course, but here is my advice speaking as a patient: I basically agree with your mother's doctor that it's probably best to start with standard therapies to hopefully have an immediate impact on the cancer. However, you can still look into clinical trials for the future.

Has your mother had testing to see if she is ER/PR positive and/or Her2 positive? That has a big impact on what treatments are available to her. When dealing with MBC, it's good to get as much mileage as you can out of the available treatments. I hope that helps somewhat, best wishes to you and your family.
