Arimidex users, help!

Options

Hi, I’m a newbie so I apologize if the answers are already out there.

I’ve been on Arimidex for roughly 5 months now, I feel like I’ve gone from age 60 to 80

in a very short time!( don’t mean to offend 80 year olds)😌

I know there are other options out there. I’m assuming my Dr, put me on this for a good reason.

In my research it appears this drug has had better results then others so I would rather stay on this drug.

I have discussed my joint pain with my Dr, but his response is unfortunately, it’s just the way it is. Anyways, any information out there, I am open to and would very much appreciate it!

Right now I’m thinking of going gluten free to help joint pain.

I do walk regularly . Would love to start swimming but with covid, indoors pools are not opened yet.

Little footnote ,..I did have cancer 7 years ago, ACC. My breast cancer was, stage 1,not in the lymph nodes. Size tumor was just under being stage 2.

My breast cancer did not come from my ACC

I am estrogen +, progesterone + and HER 2 positive. .( that’s another forum)

Thanks again for any responses❤️T

hi there! I felt your pain and fully understand. For me things got worse until the 7th month mark. I could barely make it down the stairs. Once I stopped for the evening was my worst time of day. You could try glucossmine chondroitin. I am much better now and side effects are tolerable. I wake up at night with random moving joint pain some nights. If its bearable and u can tolerate try to hang in there a bit longer. Good luck

I'm a little confused. What is ACC? The only thing I can think of is adenoid cystic carcinoma. What type of breast cancer were you diagnosed with & when were you diagnosed? If you were Stage I, what grade were you?

As far as Arimidex, it does cause joint problems & often exercise helps. There are other AI's available, but they all come with positives & negatives. Did you ever have an Oncotype done?

    hi,

Yes, Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the sub maxillary gland.

Oncotyoe test, I believe I did.

I have to pull out all my information. I’ve forgotten a lot.

I had so many test, I’ve forgotten all the basic of my breast cancer

    Stage one

    Grade, totally forgot.

My radiation finished in September. Herceptin is completed in April.
