A little hope
I have read a lot of entries from new posters recently. It makes me so sad to see the group grow. While we are glad you found this informative site, we wish you did not need to search for answers because of a recent mets diagnosis. If you have a Dr.who has predicted the end of your life (run!!) or you have been playing naughty with Dr. Google, take a deep breath. Things will seem more positive once you have a treatment plan in place and you are actively doing something instead of waiting and wondering.
I was in your place 9 years and 9 months ago. June 2011.
Since that day, I have participated in 3 clinical trials, am followed by 2 research groups, have witnessed 6 new treatments receive FDA approval, and celebrated the passage of the Right to Try law. I truly believe the cure is close. My goal is to live until it is found.
Today I share my story of hope, and wish you peace as you learn the details of your diagnosis and the treatment ahead of you. Thrive.

Congratulations on your longevity and thank you for posting to share some hope! Great to hear from you.
Yes may we all hang in there the best we can for the day the cure is found and may it be very very soon

Thank you for the hope!
I found out October 2020 that the beast is back. I dont know if I have fully wrapped my head around all of it. I'm learning to live with cancer. ❤ ❤

Such a wonderful story to share. Thanks so much for posting. It's so easy to go to a dark place with MBC, and your post helps so much.

This is such a great post. I was diagnosed stage 4 from the start, and was told I didn't have long to live. That was over 12 years ago. I'm still on the same chemo and meds as I was then. Don't believe everything you hear. Your next new treatment may be just around the corner.

Congratulations! I am almost at the ten year mark myself. May there continue to be more and more outliers and an eventual cure
