Hi ladies. So I noticed my left breast looked different in the mirror last night. The skin on my areola looked ropy at the top and bottom. They were also tender but I thought it could be ovulation related. Today I went to a nurse practitioner who did an exam. She did see the skin changes and noticed a thickening under my left boob that felt to me like a bone (of course I googled and there's a name.for it - inframammary ridge). She referred me for a screening but said she wished I could have the diagnostic. I'm without insurance at the moment and the screening mammo is doable for me at this time. I'm going tomorrow for the mammo and this place offers results on 24-36 hours. I can not get my mind to relax. I have gone to the worst case scenario because she did not feel lumps. I happened upon inflammatory bc thanks to Google. 🙄 Anyone have any thoughts or opinions? Open to all. Thanks!

Lucybee, sorry that no one has responded sooner.

    Welcome to BCO!

I hope that the mammogram goes well today. I understand your fear of IBC - but fortunately most people who come here worried about IBC in the end just have a skin condition. With luck, that's all that's going on with you. Still, it's important to get things checked out so I'm glad you have the mammo scheduled.

Let us know what happened today.
