Hi,

I am 65 years old and just been diagnosed as having a grade1 tubular cancer in my left breast.

Apparently they are to remove it by surgery along with at least 2 nodes under arm even though they showed as being clear on the ultrasound followed by radiotherapy.

Any ladies on here with same type of cancer that could give me their experiences or tips please? X

Hi muckypaws, sorry to hear of your diagnosis but glad your found your way to us. There is a thread on tubular carcinoma where you can connect with other pts with your diagnosis. I recommend not reading more than about 2 years back as treatments change but you can get a good sense of what to expect there.

There are also surgery threads which you might find a good place to read. This is the link to the general surgery forum - scroll around for specific threads which interest you https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/91

The lymph node excision is likely what they a 'sentinel lymph node biopsy' which is when they take a couple of the lymph nodes to check for cancer. Ultrasound cannot catch tiny spread - a pathologist has to look at it under the microscope to be sure.

    best wishes
