Response to weekly taxol followed by 3 weeks herceptin-perjeta

hello ladies

I was dx with stage 2B IDC grade 3, one lymph node confirmed by biopsy: pet-ct and breast MRI, tumor size and 2.6 cm (er pr neg, her2 positive)

I started Dose dense AC but tumor shrank only 1 mm although lymph node decreased in half

I recently started weekly taxol with 3 w herp/perjeta and was wondering when did u start to notice shrinking of tumor in this regimen?

Vee - your tumor may or may NOT shrink. Or the chemo may kill the cancer cells and you still have the shell/husk. Hope you're lucky and you do have pCR (complete response). I'm assuming they'll do some imaging and then you're eventually headed for surgery. Good luck

Thank u minus two, may i ask about your experience with taxol/herceptin/perjeta, did u feel ur tumor shrinking during and what was the residual left

I had a more robust chemo - TCHP. Taxotere, Carboplatin, Heceptin & Perteta infusions every 3 weeks for 6 rounds. Even at that, I did not have a pCR. The tumor was seen on imaging before surgery and then removed with clean margins, but because I was HER2+ my MO wanted to another round of chemo before radiation- AC. Adriamycin & Cytoxan. Then I had radiation & continued Herceptin for the balance of a year.

I'm now 7 years NED (no evidence of disease).
