Would you be able to recommend a dermatologist to me for the above issue that is stated in the subject* area?

Thanks

Monica: Do you have a PCP of an OB/Gyn? That's where I'd start for a recommendation. All of the docs I really love were recommendations from other docs I trusted.

In the mean time, where are you located? I'm not sure how many people here have dedicated dermatologists. What docs have you already seen?

Even an urgent care would be fine. GPs (and PAs and NPs) deal with itchy spots and infected sores all the time. If you need more specialized care they refer you.

In the meantime, I’d start with OTC antibiotic ointment if I thought I had a skin infection, or OTC cortupisone cream for itch

Make sure the spot isn't growing in size, hot to touch and/or swollen. If it is you need to see your PCP or MO.
