Can the itching from IBC be relieved by cortisone creams?

I recently had two red spots pop up on one of my breasts and have already been to the doctor. Dr thinks it's dermatitis and gave me an antibiotic ointment and a corticosteroid cream. I think I am getting some relief from the horrible itching with the corticosteroid cream, but it comes and goes. The redness and swelling hasn't changed yet. So I was wondering if it's normal for itching related to IBC to be relieved through such creams? It hasn't been very long since I started the creams so I know I still need to wait longer but am trying to look for reasons to no longer be worried.... Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I don't know much about IBC but I don't believe the itching from IBC would be relieved by cortisone creams.

IBC is rare. Skin rashes are common. Your doctor thinks it's dermatitis. Give the topical creams time to work before you start worry about IBC. The fact that the itching has started to ease is a good sign that your doctor is right.
