I meet with my chemo doctor and team on monday to discuss when I will be starting chemo...( soon). I do work full time as a line cook. I don't know how quickly I will feel side effects and for how long? I was wondering how long you recommend taking off for? And any advise on chemo side effects would be greatly appreciated.

Side effects are very individual and also very dependent on what chemo you have. Do you know yet what is prescribed for you? If you know, if you can edit your post, it will help us answer you with what range of SE (side effects) you might expect.

Most people here will tell you that it is not as bad as they expected, very doable though of course mighty unpleasant.

I also suggest joining a current chemo thread - like January chemo club - so you can share with others going through the same things. I also recommend reading the prior thread to get more feedback.
