My girlfriend of 5yrs got diagnosed with stage 2b breast cancer, they said maybe stage 3. It's in her lymph nodes under her armpit. She has to do 8 rounds of chemo, mastectomy, radiation then 5yrs on hormone therapy. She 26. She just completed 8 rounds of chemo, her breast mass is significantly softer, during recent examinations by her oncologist and surgeon they say they can't feel the lymph nodes under her armpits anymore, which is great bc before chemo is was visible and huge. It's been a positive experience so far, however today her mri results show that there are other lymph nodes under her armpit enlarged that previously weren't and it's been a heavy day as most of you probably know. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this or know anyone who experienced this. The doctor says that can't feel any swollen nodes but the mri is showing otherwise. They're about 7mm big. Her surgery is scheduled for early January. I dunno, I guess I need to someone to tell me she'll be ok

Domenta, I'm so sorry you and your GF are going through this. I didn't have the same experience as she, so I can't speak to the medical process, other than it sounds like other things I've seen. I can tell you that absolutely she will be okay, as long as you adjust your idea of what "okay" means. Sending you both love and my very best wishes.

Domenta, sorry you both are going thru this. It sounds like her medical team is on top of things and will continue to monitor and treat as necessary. She may be prescribed radiation also, after chemo, which can do a number on the left over lymph mets. Try not to worry. Seems as though she is on the right path. If she has concerns that are not being addressed, she can always get a second opinion. I know it probably feels like you are on a roller coaster and sometimes it goes too fast and sometimes not fast enough. Hang in there! Best wishes:)
