Side sleeping question

Options

Had my BMX w/o recon on November 24th. Recovering nicely. I’m due to get my drains out tomorrow and am wondering when I can get off the recliner and back to my bed, sleeping on my side. I know stomach sleeping will be a while longer but just to be able to lay on my side for part of the night would be so great. Any thoughts

I slept on my side with drains both times. Use pillows, I have a body pillow.

A body pillow works wonders. It may take a little to find the right position but you'll get there

yes body pillow is a must and you should be able to side sleep as soon as drains are out

I was able to sleep on my side after all my drains were out. However I did not return to bed until about the 5 week post-surgery mark. I really had to hold to the no more than 5 pound lifting until about that point due to healing issues. I toss and turn a lot and was "lifting" a lot more than 5 pounds as I used my arms to shift position the few minutes I tried to return to bed prior. I did stretch out on the couch once the drains were removed. The couch limited my movement and I was able to use my abs and legs a lot more to help me change positions.
