Hi I'm 39 due to be 40 in a few weeks. I found a lump myself. I've had no pain, just happened to feel it in the shower. I had the doctor check it and she ordered a mammogram (my first) and an ultrasound. The results have led to a biopsy, which I had today. The surgeon that I was referred to also felt something under my arm during her exam. I don't know what to ask when go to these appointments. I know there is concern. I've been told ' there is increased vascularity and it's microlobulated and swollen lymph nodes.' My follow up for the biopsy is Dec.14th. My maternal grandmother was diagnosed at 72. No one else in my family has even had a call back for a mammogram. I'm trying to keep this to myself, because I don't want to put something out there and have it get out of hand.

Could you recommend the best questions to ask? I'd appreciate any help. I've read several posts and you all seem really supportive. Thank you in advance.

Hi jessica, there is nothing really to do until you have the biopsy results. Hang in there. Stay off google, assume the best. The only thing to ask during the biopsy is how long until you get results and whether they'll be posted in some portal or you have to get them directly from the ordering physician. Once you have biopsy results then you can ask questions but they'll really depend on what the biopsy results say so I don't think we can suggest anything. Just distract yourself as much as you can. & don't worry about the biopsy - they'll freeze you well and you shouldn't feel anything other than pressure.

Thank you moth. Things went well with the biopsy. Luckily this is a great time of year to keep busy.
