Low-Intermediate Oncotype DX Score and Chemo

I just learned that my Oncotype score is 19 and I have been scheduled to start a few rounds of chemo (TC) soon. I am 34yo and after looking up the thresholds, I see this falls into the upper end of the low-intermediate zone (16-20) for 50yo and below. I was surprised, as I thought I would have a very low score since I was determined to be HR+ HER2- Stage I Grade I BRCA- with no lymph node involvement.

Although I trust the MO, I see I'm more of a grey area. Given my case, part of me wonders if chemo will really lower my recurrence risk, but the other part of me feels like I should do everything in my power to prevent recurrence since both of my parents have battled cancers as well.

Can anyone here please comment if they had a similar Oncotype score (16-20) and went through with chemo? Thanks in advance!

pia, I just responded a few days ago to someone who is 30, who also had a 19 Oncotype score, so a very similar situation. Take a read here, specifically about the Oncotype RSPC model:

You definitely should ask your MO to run the model for you, to see what recurrence risk the model generates, given your young age. That should help with your decision.
