A little background on me, will be 49 by the end of the month and I'm in full swing of perimenopause. I have hetro dense breasts, family history of breast cancer (mom diagnosed early 30's, passed away at 36)

A few years ago I was called back after a mammo for a suspicious lump found during ultra sound, led to breast MRI, all came back clear but they said I do have very busy breasts, lots of fibroadenomas. They basically seem not be able to tell anything on mammos or even ultrasound that well. I feel like the only reliable source is the breast MRI and they did recommend I do it every year.

I went back every 6 months, had another breast MRI about 14 months after first one, all clear. Haven't had any screenings since

Why I'm here, for almost a week, during my period, when I got in the shower my left nipple has gotten real itchy, lasts after shower for awhile but comes and goes. Also having pain in just one area of left breast. Tender all over breasts are normal for me hormonal wise but I've never had pain in just one spot while everywhere else feels great. It's not constant but hurts when I push on it or if breasts move like in bed laying on side and flipping to other side, will feel the pain for a second in that particular area. I've been really feeling around that area and I noticed a couple times it made my nipple itch even though I never touched the nipple.

Google brought up IBC but other than the nipple itchiness and pain, no other symptoms..Cycle wise, I am hopefully just finishing my period. Instead of stopping like normal, I've been lightly spotting every day since it should have stopped. This is not abnormal for me, perimenopause had made my periods wacky.

First welcome to breastcancer.org! May be a good idea to schedule with your OBGYN if you have one or PCP if not? I hear your concern though do not know if what you're experiencing is related to breast cancer or not. Hopefully others will chime in who may have experienced similar symptoms as yours and any ideas they have....
