It's official.....I'm metastatic

After a month or so of scans and biopsies I have been officially diagnosed with metastatic disease. It has spread to my mediastinal, as well as lung nodules and abdominal lymph nodes.

I'm waiting on my insurance to approve Ibrance and Faslodex. Hopefully this will happen in the next couple of days. It has been since Wednesday so soon right?

I'm also getting a brain scan per MO's thoughts.

I'm reading alot about what to expect with treatment. I think I want to take some time off of work to get mentally adjusted to this.

I am scared but hopeful.

I’m sorry to hear this but yes, be hopeful. I seen you on other threads, so I know you’re generally familiar with what comes next and I’m sure you seen many of us stage IV folks doing ok. There will be tough times but good ones too.

So sorry! And yes, there is hope. You know yourself best, but I found that staying busy with work, even as I started treatment, kept me from having too much time to think about things (o worse yet, google).

Hey lady. Sorry you’re here but it’s doable, livable. I’m still plugging along after seven years. Your mind goes crazy until you have a plan. I always start cleaning and decluttering. Don’t be afraid to ask for something g to take the edge off.

I did almost two years on ibrance with arimidex. It took a couple cycles to get it right but once we found that sweet spot I was good. Even went to Ireland twice! With two kids.

We’re here when you have questions or want to vent.
