Contracture surgery, what to expect

Hi, I have a contracture on my left breast which feels quite hard. I have surgery scheduled this week to fix it but I actually have no idea what to expect. My implants are on top of my pectoral. Has anyone had this done who can tell me what the surgery is like? How long is it generally? Where do they do the incision? What is the recovery like? I won't see my PS until the day of the surgery so won't get a chance to ask all these questions.

You really do need to discuss with with your surgeon. Can you call? Or "My Chart"? Or Facetime? There are no general answers because every PS is different. I for one would not go into surgery w/o a lot of details.

Can you update on your surgery? I have a contracture on my left side (radiated side). I have an appointment with my PS on Monday but I’m seeking info. My breasts are very lopsided and the left one keeps creeping higher every day

I am sure everyone's experiences and surgeries are different, so I can only share what mine was like. My plastic surgeon first did more fat grafting to increase the padding under my skin since my implants are above my pectoral muscles. Then after that had a few months to heal, he removed the actual contracture. He made an incision under my breast, removed the implant, cleaned the pocket and inserted a new implant. I also had a little more fat grafting at that time. I had to limit lifting to 3-5 lbs and sleep on my back. I was very good with that, but two and a half weeks after my surgery, I bent over to clean up something and within a minute, felt a lot of swelling. My breast became hard and very misshapen. I called andbit was determined I had a large hemotoma. I was sent to the ER where they admitted me and did emergency surgery. That part was because I was on blood thinners, not a normal complication. After that surgery, at first I was very upset because that side was much higher than the other and further under my armpit. But, after a couple of months, it dropped back into place. My implant is soft again and feels quite natural. My only complaint now is that one nipple is considerab higher than the other and I have some puckering, but those are issues I had before my contracture.

I shared all that but really the contracture removal itself is a fairly easy surgery and should give you good results. Just make sure you are very careful when you while it heals.
