Skin rash/ could it be skin Mets ?

Here I am again worried. As you can see from my signature I was diagnosed in 2019 with breast cancer and finished treatments in April 2020.

This past weekend I’ve developed a rash on part of my breast near my incision, on my neck and on my tummy. I was wondering if it’s skin Mets. If anyone who has been diagnosed recently can share what where their symptoms.

I did call my BS today and sent her some pictures of my rash. She didn’t seem too concerned. She thinks it’s only an allergic reaction and that I should see a dermatologist

Im so worried and I just hope this rash will go away!

I develop red spots and rashes all the time - currently have a small one on my reconstructed breast. What I do is always give it a few days - usually I put some antibiotic cream on it - to see if it starts to fade on it's own. Usually it does and then eventually it goes away completely. I only see a dermatologist if I have a rash that doesn't resolve on it's own within two weeks or so. Every rash I've ever had on my breast has resolved.

Your BS isn't concerned. Considering that your rash is also on your neck and stomach, it's most likely a rash and nothing more. Treat It as a skin rash before you start thinking mets.

Thanks Beesie for your reply. Which cream do you usually put on? I took Claritin and the rash is less red and fading away I guess. It’s 4 am and can’t go to sleep. P.S i also have two red spots on my arms.

I get so many different skin rashes that I have about a dozen creams - okay, that might be exaggerating but not by much. Most are OTC but I also have a couple of older prescription creams. If it's itching then I'll start with something for itch - Benadryl or Cortizone or Gold Bond. If it's not itching, I'll try Neosporin or Polysporin. I'm in Canada (you too, right?) and we can't get Neosporin here but I buy it when I'm in the U.S.. I find that each works for me for different things, so I try one and then if it doesn't work, I try the other. For the current red mark, it's the Polysporin that seems to be working.

If you have spots on your arms too, and if the Claritin seems to be fading the red slightly, then it definitely sounds like an allergic reaction. Give it time. It's easy for us to panic any time something new develops but we have to remember that just because we've had breast cancer, we are no less likely to get all these other conditions that people get. Most often, a rash is just a rash.

Yes I’m in Canada 🇨🇦 I was able to speak to BS (telemedicine) she reassured me that it is highly unlikely skin Mets. She referred me to a dermatologist. Waiting for the appointment...hopefully it won't be too long. Meanwhile she prescribed cortisone cream to relieve itchiness when needed. I will keep you posted.

Eigna, I had skin mets, but mine were very different from how yours are sounding. I hope that puts your mind at ease some, but do follow up with your doctors. Best wishes to you!

Thanks buttonmachine - what were your initial symptoms? How did it start?

My appointment with the dermatologist is set for next Wednesday.
