    Hi All,

I would like to hear from anyone who has received 12 Taxol treatments. I had 4 treatments with A/C and am now scheduled for 12 weekly treatments of Taxol. I am very concerned about the cumulative effects of that many treatments, as well as a potentially increased degree of peripheral neuropathy.

    Thank you.

I suggest you Pm.the mods and ask them to move this to the chemo forum. There is an active thread on weekly taxol there. Weekly taxol is very doable; most find it easier than the AC.

I agree with moth. And, yes, I found Taxol easier than AC -- much less chemo brain. I got a little neuropathy in my fingertips, but that was it.

    Elaine Therese,

Thank you for sharing your experience with me. I have had 3 Taxol treatments out of twelve so far. After a few relatively mild initial side effects, I have found the Taxol to be a lot less harsh on my body than the AC. I see that it has been over 5 years since your treatment. I hope you continue to be cancer free and are enjoying good health.

    Best wishes, Wendy

My experience with taxol after AC was I felt amazing for the first few doses but as time went on I felt really really tired. Taxol just kind of dragged on longer than was for my liking!

I experienced bloody noses which I never ever get, and that really scared me but as I found out that is a side effect that some people experience after joining in on the weekly taxol thread here. My MO just recommended a OTC saline nasal spray and that pretty much solved the problem.

It was around dose number 7 when I started with the symptoms of neuropathy. I believe many advocate on icing hands and feet to help avoiding such, so something to look into. It was around this time my WBC dipped and I had Neupogen shots to continue on.

Hopefully your experience will be uneventful as I believe most are. Wishing you tons of strength and positive outcomes going forward!
