Cysts?

Can 2 Cysts form next to each other? I have 2 masses at 6oclock one is right under my nipple under the areola and the other is about 1cm below that. The one closest to my nipple is deeper in and the one below that is very close to the surface.

I still don’t have answers to what I have but have done a lot of research which actually helped with my anxiety.

Here is what I have learned, and I continue to learn more and more and be amazed at how many different things a lump can be

Yes you can have 2 cysts near each other that feel very different from each other. Some cyst shrink and swell but some can remain the same size.

You can not tell what a lump is by feel as all lumps upon palpitation can feel very similar. That’s why test are done because feeling your lump over and over will not tell you what it is, ultimately a biopsy will give you a better answer if it is deemed suspicious enough to have one done.

Ultrasound can tell you characteristics and if it is a simple cyst you can ask for it to be drained but it’s an elective surgery usually. If it looks more complicated or complex they may just want you to come back in a specific time frame or they may want to do a biopsy on it.

If you have a biopsy done because it has solid material, that doesn’t mean it’s cancer, it means they just want to know for sure what it is. Most of the time it’s benign findings.

Even if the ultrasound shows a solid suspicious mass there are many lumps that mimic breast cancer. For examples Fat Necrosis, Sclerosing adenosis, Granular Cell Tumor, and Pseudoangiomatous Stromal Hyperplasia (PASH) just to name a few.

While I don’t know much, I know there are people like me that at first think the worst and only compare their symptoms to the worse. It’s understandable that you’re nervous because I know I am still nervous for tomorrows ultrasound.

JessiGirl, if you look at the answers you received in response to your various posts, both under your current screen name and even more so under your previous, now deleted, screen name, what you've discovered is exactly what many of us here were telling you, when you were so determined to believe only the worst. Yes, some people do come here thinking the worst; there are a handful of us who make the effort to provide factual information and reassurance, but the poster has to be willing accept the advice and information given.

Actually a simple cyst aspiration is an easy, painless, 2 minute in-office procedure with a needle and syringe. I've had it done more times than I can remember. Aspiration is usually only done on larger cysts, probably because most often it's done with no imaging guide and the needle is just inserted by feel - and it's easy to hit a large palpable cyst and easy to miss a small cyst, even if it is palpable. Smaller cysts usually are left to eventually drain and disappear on their own.

About cyst being drained, from my understanding they are usually left and it considered elective to have it drained, perhaps I’ve misunderstood when being told this.
I was told by the surgeon that If it’s a solid mass he will remove it but if it’s a cyst it will be left alone.

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I was recently diagnosed with a complex cyst. I have to go back in six months for an ultrasound. Anyone have experience with a complex cyst?

Hi, I have a lot of cluster of cysts in my breasts too. sometimes they grow shrink a little , sometimes they grow a little. I'm wondering if these are the cause of my breast pain
