Hello,

I am a 37 year old woman. About 6 weeks ago I noticed white flaky skin on my right nipple and yellow crusty scab from dried discharge. I was able to pull the scab off during my shower but it always comes back. the skin on my nipple is pink and raw looking. I'm not breastfeeding and it doesn't look like thrush to me.

Finding the discharge prompted me to do a self breast exam. I felt two lumps on my right breast, one on my left breast and lumps under my armpits.

My doctor sent me for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound. After the mammogram the technician told me to wait to get dressed until she talked to the radiologist to see if she got enough images. She came back and sent me for the ultrasound. Same thing happened I was told to wait while she checked with the radiologist. She seemed to have trouble seeing all but one of the lumps I felt. She pulled out a ruler to measure something on my left breast and spent a long time taking pictures of my left armpit.

In the end I was sent home and the ultrasound tech said that I have swollen lymph nodes under my arms but everything looked good just normal lumps.

I feel something may be abnormal about this discharge but I'm unsure what steps to take next. My breast are very large and very dense and I am upset that the lumps I can feel when I press deeply into my breasts probably didn't appear during my mammogram and ultrasound. I have a strong history of breast cancer in my family and I am unsure if I am being paranoid or if I should push for more testing.

Nobody seems to want to figure out why my lymph nodes are swollen and why my nipple is spontaneously leaking yellow discharge that turns crusty. Has anyone been through a similar experience?
