Hi everyone,

I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else here was diagnosed with breast cancer in their early 20's? I was 21 when I felt the lump, and diagnosed 3 months after turning 22. I have wonderful support from many women who are in their 30's and up, and I cherish their wisdom and help more than anything. However, it is really hard to feel like someone can actually understand and relate to what I'm going through at this point in my life. I just finished my undergrad, and all of my friends are either still in school or starting their lives. I had just moved to a new city, gotten a job, and moved in with my partner of 2 years. I feel like cancer is stealing my early adulthood from me, especially now that I'm facing the reality of possibly having to go through chemo for the next 3-6 months. I would love to speak to anyone else going through this who is under 25, doesn't have kids but wants them, or just feels like cancer is taking away the time of your life that everyone always talks about being "fun" and "carefree."

I think you're getting some good answers on the other thread you started. If you don't get much response here, do try to investigate some of the other threads in the "young" section.
