Chemopause on Anastrozole but have started my period

Options

Wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what the out come was. I have not had a period since October 2019 after my second round of AC. My gyno and Onco had tested my hormones and it appeared I was in menopause. I finished Taxol on Feb 17th had started Tamoxifen in May after I finished radiation, but didn't do well with it and wanted to go back on Wellbutrin. So I came off of Tamoxifen in June and started Anastrozole in July, handling the side effects from Anastrozole fairly well. But over the weekend I have started to menstrate again, not heavy, very light but there. I knew this was a possiblity, but now that its happend I have so many questions and emotions about it. So I'm just wondering if there are others that have had this happen, and what the out come was.

How old are you? If you're on the younger side, there is a good chance your period will come back. Mine came back while I was still on Tamoxifen few months post-chemo. My MO recommended Zoladex (ovarian suppression) and then later on I switched to Arimidex. You shouldn't be on AI if you're premenopausal.

I'm 41, yes I know if I am premenopausal AI is not for me. I have a call in to the dr but she is out of the office till later in the week. I'm assuming she will put me on ovarian suppression but I don't know that as a fact.

You're still on the younger side for chemopause to be permanent. If you're going to be on AI, then yes, it's either ovarian suppression or ovary removal.
