Hi all! I just had my US guided core needle biopsy this morning for my BIRADS-5. The biopsy itself was pretty simple, they took tissue from two different spots in my upper outer quadrant. I'm a little sore now but all in all fine! The results will come in about a week.

I'm grateful for the techs and doctors I saw today. They were so patient with me and answered my 100 questions and didn't flinch when I asked the same things over and over in between crying. Definitely a much better experience than the team I saw for my mammogram and US at another facility.

Question - she said my microcalcifications were scattered throughout this fibrous feeling portion of my breast. She said this spot is not a mass per say but an “area" of “irregular tissue" and “diffuse". I know microcalcs can be associated with DCIS but has anyone had DCIS present as sort of a fibrocystic feeling area??? I do also have a specific “mass" that's more defined at the top of this thick area, they biopsied both

ETA - axillary lymph nodes still look normal so they didn’t biopsy those. I’ll take that as a good sign for now....
