prosthesis weight

Options

Hi, I am 14 years post mastectomy (L) and am 70 years old. I am now struggling with spinal problems due to the uneven weight of prosthesis compared to heavier natural breast. My current prothesis is a heavy one but is still lighter than the other side. I am a size 40DD. The newer prosthesis advertise as lightweight or super light etc. Help! I need heavier. Has anyone any suggestions to help this problem please. I have to keep adjusting my bra because the heavier breast drags the bra sideways. The muscles on the right side of my back are now going into spasms and it is very painful. I feel like i need to make a hole in my prosthesis and fill it with stones to weight it (LOL). ny suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you lovely ladies

Sorry you're suffering with this. I can't help with prosthesis weight. But your back pain certainly is an argument for breast reduction, if that interests you at all. Good luck, and congratulations on your healthy 14 years!

Thankyou for reply. I dont think I want anymore operations :). I am in New Zealand and bra selection and prosthesis selections are quite limited. If I buy a prosthesis online, I have to take a wild stab that it will actually be the right size :). Stay well

rednail - I can't even imagine dealing with a single 40DD breast. I'd sign up for surgery tomorrow. However we are all different and have to make our own personal decisions. Sorry you're stuck with a 'onesie" that's causing problems.
