developing focal assymetry

Had diagnostic mamma and now getting needle biopsy for developing focal assymetry. Anyone have experience?

    Mom - if you'll go to the "search" section and type focal asymmetry, it looks like there are already 7 or 10 threads active in September. I didn't review back any further, but there are a bunch.

    Yes, I did have a new (aka developing) focal nodular asymmetry found on screening mammogram, also seen on ultrasound, which was confirmed on core needle biopsy as IDC with some DCIS. This is absolutely not to say your findings are suspicious for cancer. My understanding is that NEW asymmetries in particular just need to be investigated carefully.

    Thank you. . Mine was an 1.8cm area with a possible cyst with slight distortion. Wasn't as visible on the ultrasound. Had vacuum biopsy and now awaiting results. What kind of treatment are you doing?

    Mom and daughter—lumpectomy, radiation, then 5 years hormone therapy
