Hi, from BCO daily addiction in 2005 to my annual "I am still here post" I send out hope to all those at the beginning of your journey.

For me, life did really go back to a new normal within a few years of treatment. Even 15 years later breast cancer enters my thoughts on a daily basis but only briefly and as a gratitude that my treatment has save my life and allowed me the opportunity to watch my teenagers become adults, myself semi-retired and my mother reach her 92nd year.

As treatments become more targeted and side effects better managed I have such hope for the next generation of people stricken by this disease.

I am ever mindful of those of my friends who have been less fortunate and have progressed requiring continued struggle for them and their families.

As a survivor I continue to support those in my community and contribute what I can to the bigger picture.

My advice is to regain every part of your life that was good, learn to say no to things that do not bring joy and be ever hopeful for each day. Get up early and go to bed late..there is much beauty in every hour of every day that can be found.

To all my fellow 2005 ladies hello and stay safe.
