Goldengirl, what is your situation? Your age? What symptoms? What screening have you had? What is your breast health history? It's hard to appropriately answer your questions out of context and without that information.

I see that you have another post - it's always best to keep all your posts together in one thread so that those who respond have the whole picture and the benefit of seeing previous responses.

Generally speaking, yes, if someone has breast cancer and there is lymph nodes involvement, it is within the lymph nodes on the same side as the breast cancer, not the opposite side.

As for what can cause a dimple, if you google, it says it's either fat necrosis or cancer. But I've been hanging around here for a long time. I've seen dozens of women come to the site with concerns about breast dimples. While my memory might not be completely accurate, I'd say that if even 3 of them ended up with breast cancer, I'd be surprised. I think that many breast dimples are in the eye of the beholder, and are not really dimples. If someone is raising and lowering their arms, the skin on their breast will stretch and move, and that might cause what appears to be a dimple, when in fact it's just normal movement. With weight gains and weight loss, and with pregnancies and breast feeding, there can be breast changes that might lead to what looks like a dimple (but really isn't). We tend to see what we are looking for. If you have other breast concerns and are looking closely and moving your breasts around a lot, you might be creating or seeing a dimple that isn't actually there. Not saying that's happening in your case, but it's certainly happened with others who've come to this site.

No, you can't post pictures. Glad you have an exam scheduled. As Beesie says, there are a lot of possible causes - not the least of which is weight gain or loss, which seems to be happening to lots of us during the Covid era. Hope you get good news. Do come back & post your results.

Hi Golden, you could have a dimple if you have had a breast reduction, like in my case.
I have one above my nipple on the left one, but they have never mentioned anything about it and being high risk, I do follow a tight schedule of mammograms and breast MRI every 6 months.
