My mom was just diagnosed and I am worried sick everyday

Hello! I hope everybody is doing well through these unusual times.

My mom is 72 and just diagnosed. So far we found out that she has IDC/DCIS, 1.3 cm, ER/PR-, HER2+, grade 2 (Tubular formation 3, mitotic 1, Nuclear 2), Lympovascular invasion not identified. This whole journey started in middle of July this year after her routine mammogram. She did her biopsy on 8/3 and MRI to be done on 8/21. We are still waiting for surgery consultation schedule and oncologist on 10/14.

This is the first time for my family dealing with a cancer, so my family just don't know what to do. Especially, my family don't speak English so I am the one who's doing all researches and communicating with her doctors and the burden is so heavy that sometimes I can't breathe. Whenever I receive any reports, I google every single word trying to find out what it means and I am so afraid of reading next word because I am so afraid of finding negative news for my mom. I feel that everything is moving so slowly and I am worried sick everyday for the possibility of her cancer getting spread because of all these waiting hours. I know I shouldn't do, but I can't help myself keep imagining the worst and it brings me down every second.

So far this community has been the only place making me calmer while reading so many brave women's hopeful messages, support and encouragement.

I just wanted to say Thank you everybody out there in this community for being there for me and my mom.

Hi. I don't have the same diagnosis as your mom, but I didn't want you to feel alone. The beginning stages are the absolute worst because there is no treatment plan and they're still trying to figure things out. The waiting is horrible. All of us go through that horrid waiting stage. You are awesome for how much you love your mom. Try really hard to take care of yourself. Be patient. This will be the toughest part. Once she's got a plan, you will feel like you can breathe a little better.

hello sweetheart i was planning our 2nd marriage when i was diagnosed. No one in my family had breast cancer before so i had my cry then decided to fight. My family faith also kept me going and thinking Positive thoughts with lots of Hope to help get me thru all this. So sweety once treatment plan in effect things will ease up some. I am now a long term Survivor and believe you coming here will help ease your anxiety. msphil idc stage2 0/3 nodes 3mo chemo before and after L mast then we git married then 7wks rads and 5yrs on Tamoxifen then our honeymoon.
