Hello, I am a 30 year old woman with an extensive family history of cancers including breast cancer so in a bit nerve wracked on the subject.
I have large lumpy breasts to begin with but since about January I've had areas of Firm painful lumps swelling up and they'll come and go over a the span of month or two in different spots in one breast. I have occasional pain lumps in the other but it's mostly in the one. I have an appointment about another new area for Monday and this is my third time going in about it This year, twice for this breast once for the other. I've had ultrasounds and they've come back clear With my doctor citing dense tissue and cysts and large heavy breasts recommending a better bra painkillers and approving me for a major breast reduction that ill be going through with as soon as I'm cleared for it. This time I am more Concerned than usual because the pain seems to connect to the armpit. The newer firm painful area is on the upper outer area of the breast when I usually get them in the lower areas and when I press against it it feels like it connects into my armpit area and makes it sore though there's no lump in the armpit . I Was injured early this year from lifting a heavy item that damaged my pectoral muscles, rib/side muscles and the muscles connecting to and in my armpit on the same side where I'm having the majority of breast issues. I believe it has not properly healed as I still have weakness and pain throughout the day and whenever I try to lift things over a certain weight or reach in certain areas I get a jolt of pain or irritation for hours to days at a time. I feel like it could be a case of two different things coming together with the chest injury and the likely new cystic breast area situation but with the pain being near my lymph nodes I can't help but be concerned. I was hoping someone here might have experience with such symptoms or tips on how To go forward with concerns for my doctor visit on Monday. Tia and apologies for grammatical issues as my phone likes to make typing dificult

    Hi Alicia!

I’m so sorry you’ve had so many issues with your breasts in just the past year! I see everything has been benign and clear, but I understand how scary it can be when something new pops up. I’ve had several benign lumps pop up over the past five years and now another new guy that I’m hoping to add to the benign pile.

My bs says some women just have “busy breasts.” Let’s hope that both of ours take a break soon. I hope your visit goes well on Monday! Keep us posted!

One problem that so many women have is they jump to CANCER for any breast issues. It's just another body part. It helps to think, if my foot was feeling this discomfort (especially if I had injured it recently) would my mind think FOOT CANCER?

Aliacia I always had lumpy, cystic, dense small breasts so I feel your literal pain. They were most active during my 30's as well. It is frustrating and a little scary. Perhaps in your discussion with your doctor, talk about imaging with an MRI as a baseline if your breasts are significantly dense.

Aliacia - looks like you are already approved for breast reduction surgery. They will do lots of testing before the surgery so you should get a 'baseline' then. And again after the reduction surgery.

Thank you all for your responses! They helped me relax quite a bit. Unfortunately I had to postpone my doctors visit as my car decided it didn’t want to run yesterday but overall the pain has significantly decreased so I’m assuming I had just strained it. I will still bring up the baseline tests next time I’m able to go in which will hopefully be for my testing for surgery!
