hypoattenuating hepatic lesions

Hello! This is my first post. I am one year post cancer treatment for stage one breast cancer. I'd been having a muscular pain around my right ribs and my oncologist said she wasn't concerned at all but did a ct abdomen scan and put my mind at ease. We got the results and she said it was completely fine no sign of metatastic disease. But when I got the report it did say it showed at least two "subcentimeter hypoattenuating hepatic lesions.". Of course I looked what that was up online and now I'm freaking out. Called oncologist today and she said it's too small to even tell what it is and is nothing to worry about. Not what I read online... She said will repeat ct scan in three months if I want to put my mind at ease. So now even through the report said all fine I feel like now there is something potentially concerning that needs to be monitored. I am back to feeling so scared like my initial diagnosis. Has anyone had a similar finding? I don't know how not to worry and put it out of my mind for the next three months 😔

GooGoo - you need to trust your oncologist - not 'Dr.' Google. Information on line is often outdated & skewed. None of us is a trained MD - including google - to make that call. If you don't feel like you can trust your MO, I think the best thing to do would be to get a second opinion. Most doctors are OK with you getting a second pair of eyes.

You should always keep a copy of all your tests & scans on CDs, as well as the written reports. They are yours, so you just have to ask. Those would be important to take to a second opinion appointment. Good luck.

Minis two- you are right. I should never have googled it. I talked to my oncologist office again yesterday and she said it's nothing and not to worry. They will repeat scan in three months to put my mind at ease. I know I should trust her and listen to what she is saying but my brain is not cooperating. This is a hard journey- physically and emotionally. :(

Yes - it is a HARD journey. Sorry for your worries. It's really not innapropriate to get a second opinion if that would put your mind to rest.

    googoosh Jahn,

I know three months can feel like a long, long time and create stress but it sounds as if not much can be done now beside the active monitoring you have planned. And I second staying away from Google!

I am curious. Is your user name referring to the famous Iranian singer/actress? That is why I added “jahn” to my greeting. If not, please forgive me. If it is then Khodafez-fez and take care

Thank you ravelry. Yes I will try to put it out of my mind for the next few months and trust my doctor.

And yes! I have a cat named after famous googoosh 😀. My best friend growing up is iranian and her family is like a second family to me. You take care too.
