Hey guys. Quick backstory. Lump found incidentally on mammo in 2016 when checking out my lumpy boobs. Ended with surgical excision and ADH, ALH and other atypias. So now get checked via imaging every 6 months. They found 2 suspicious lesions in 2018. Biopsy but benign.

I just had my yearly MRI aug 13. Radiologist said there is a small lesion 0.6X0.4. Said it was circumscribed but had quick initial focal light up (I’m paraphrasing because i can’t recall exactly what it said) and he couldn’t tell potentially because of size or motion artifacts (i had to take a couple deep breathes while i was in there) if it had plateau or washout kinetics. He sent me to a targeted ultrasound and said if nothing suspicious shows up to follow up with MRI in 6 months.

The ultrasound tech rushed through the exam and hurried out to show the radiologist. I’ll be honest it made me freaked. She came back saying the ultrasound found nothing and to follow up with both MRI and mammo.

I’m waiting for my dr to call me but wanted opinions. Has anyone had cancer show up on MRI but not ultrasound? I don’t want unnecessary biopsies. But i also don’t want a surprise in 6 months if there’s something there.

Would love to hear any thoughts
