Pain when swallowing?

Hi everyone. The past couple of days I have been feeling pain in the center of my chest when I swallow. I seem to feel it especially when leaning my head back while taking medication. It's not a burning feeling, but pain. I just had a CT scan so I'm not concerned that it may be cancer, I'm thinking maybe GERD or esophagitis or something like that. I do have occasional heartburn and anytime I burp lately it's a little painful. I am on the Ibrance/Faslodex/Xgeva regimen. Has anyone experienced this that might be taking the same meds and if so how are you coping with it. Thanks for any input!

JACK5IE, I am curious if you’ve ever had an endoscopy. If not and your symptoms continue, that might be an option to see what’s going on. I hope the pain goes away for you.

KBL...no I haven't and the prospect of having one scares the hell out of me.

    Thank you.

I haven’t had pain but have difficulty swallowing due to nerve/vocal cord issues. I’d request a barium swallow test for some answers. Good luck!

JACK5IE, can you tell me what scares you.  I’ve had three in the last year, and it’s the easiest procedure I’ve ever had. I’ve had absolutely no pain afterward. Please don’t hesitate to ask me questions. I can’t guarantee I’ll have the answer, but I don’t mind at all.

    Thank you illimae!

KBL...just the thought of something going down my throat like that freaks me out. Plus you're not totally out are you?

JACK5IE, yes, I have been totally out. Never knew a thing. They wheel me into the room, I turn on my side, and right before they put me out they have you put a thing in your mouth and tell you to bite down, then they put the medication in my arm, and I’m out like a light. I’ve never felt a thing.  This last time they even tried to stretch my esophagus a little. I didn’t feel that either or have any after effects.

Thanks for that info KBL. That eases my mind a bit.

The pain seems a little better today but I'm going to keep paying attention to it and if it doesn't go away or gets worse I will definitely mention it to my doctor.
