First 6 mos mammogram after DCIS lumpectomy!

I am scheduled for my first 6 mos followup/mammogram on the lumpectomy side breast (only), in a few days. Six months seems so far away, but now it is here. I am, of course, scared. My lumpectomy was for a very small area of DCIS stage 0. I did not need radiation. (However, I am still considering taking Tamoxifen). The lab report after surgery was good, I did not need any more surgery at that time.

Has anyone had something more found at their first 6 mos. mammogram? How worried should I be?

Thx.

I just had my 6 month mammogram after a lumpectomy. I remind myself that just because you're getting tested, doesn't mean you have anything. And if you do have something, they'll catch it. That's why so many cases of DCIS are being detected. And since the surgery went well, no sense in worrying. Plus worrying won't change the outcome! You're doing everything right.

Thx, Pandora for the response. I had the mammo a week or two ago, and it was fine. I guess this will be the rest of my life, the worry on mammo day! But, you are right, they caught mine very small, and very early thanks to 3D mammo. I am grateful for that.....
