Hi everyone, I found a lump, then last week had diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound and scheduled for biopsy early Aug. after totally freaking out this weekend I called the ordering Dr who told me it’s almsot certain not to be cancer - non jagged edges and hyperechoic. This has reduced my fear immensely. But I have all kinds of weird pain since the mammogram 6 days ago. Feels like little knives around my breast and also same odd pains down my arm, neck all over. At times it feels like a throbbing stabbing pain, and it seems to be at most tim s every 30 seconds. I was so relieved by what the dr told me over the phone I forgot to mention the pain. The day after mammogram was very bad pain and the dr called in antibiotics in case of infection... but it doesnt feel like one and I am still having a ton of pain. No fever, or redness. Not really any pain at all before mammogram.

I wonder what th heck is all this pain from???

Ladyc2020, Could it be possible after being turned in unnatural positions that you pulled a muscle? Mammograms are always uncomfortable. Usually I have discomfort for a couple of days.

The diagnostic was uncomfortable but not unbearable. This is very unpleasant... the pain is about at a 3/4 today. Last night was more like a 6/7. I had to call on call nurse last night, advised to take Tylenol. I forgot to mention here that I am still nursing 1-3x a day. Did it do some kind of damage? I have never had this type of pain before.

Could you have a clogged milk duct? Do you feel any relief after you feed your baby?

Unfortunately, it’s not a clogged duct, there hasn’t been pain in ththe area, or anything I am more familiar with. Which is nursing related ... with all my kiddos I have nurses for a total of 7 years or so and have had things come up with all of them over time. My pain after the diagnostic is less each day, now on day 8 and almost gone. Seems to hurt more when laying down on either side. I do wonder of it tore a muscle perhaps? Glad it seems to be getting better :
