I-Spy 2 - any other participants out there?

Hey all,

I received cemiplimab for 4 cycles experimentally with Taxol, followed by AC, to try against my early breast cancer, as part of the I-Spy 2 clinical trial. Unfortunately as a side effect of the immunotherapy I developed both hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency during AC. I suspect this made AC chemo harder. I knew this was a possibility but had hoped for better. I know there are many women who received immunotherapy through I-Spy 2 — anybody out there on the boards who also was in I-Spy 2? What arm were you in and what was your outcome? Did you have any immune side effects?

I’ll have surgery next month which hopefully will show some good response to treatment, but my scans don’t look like I’ve had much response so I’m finding it tough not to feel a little down about my outcome right now. If I have a pCR I’d feel a lot more resilient to losing my thyroid and pituitary function.

Before my breast cancer I had no health conditions so it’s just a lot to absorb being dependent on these two medications. But I am trying to work on being grateful for my life and also grateful that there are fairly simpletreatments for these conditions!
