Dr. on Monday

So about two weeks ago I noticed a pink thickened area on my right breast. At the time it was about the size of a dime so I didn't really pay much attention to it. It has since grown to the size of a half-dollar piece, still pink in color. Over the past week my right breast is swollen and tender. I contacted my OBGYN and she said with my history (grandmother and aunt died of cancer, I had a biopsy done on a mass in the right breast in 2015) that I should go for a diagnostic screening at OU Breast. I called them and told them my symptoms and I go on Monday. I had to go by my OBGYN's office to pick up some paper work and while I was there she asked to see the area. She said it was for sure a different skin texture than the rest of my breast and was glad I was going on Monday because they would be able to determine what it is and how to proceed. So, with all this being said, I got on the internet, and I am sure you guys know what I saw. I am trying to remain calm and positive, but my anxiety is high. Anyone, with the same experience or the same issues

Kelli,
Dr google can lead you in totally the wrong direction, it did the opposite for me and sent me into a a realm of its nothing, which wasn't the case. Take a breath, wait till you see see someone and then take it from there. Scanxiety is real, and you will read about it a lot on this forum. Its the fear of the unknown, hopefully your appointment will help shed some light on whats going on.
Good luck for Monday, and sending you good vibes
Emmalee, sending you good vibes too for Wednesday!!

So, I went to the breast center yesterday. I had a mammogram and then went straight to the ultrasound room. The tech that did it said nothing the whole time we were in there. got a ruler out and measured something, maybe the raised thickened area on my breast. left and came back with a prescription for an antibiotic. I told her that I had already done a round of antibiotics before I made my appointment with them and that my OBGyn referred me to them when the medicine didn't change anything. I asked to talk to the radiologist. The radiologist came in and told me the same thing. I was trying to not cry and said that I was not questioning her knowledge in anyway but I know that there is something going on with my right breast. She told me I was more than welcomed to get a second opinion if I needed to. I asked her about IBC and she told me that the area of concern looked nothing like IBC. I wanted to tell her that in fact it does and appears different in all cases. She told me to come backings two weeks and she would look at it again. Told me there was nothing to biopsy. My dr. here where I live thought they should have biopsied the raised area, and is trying to figure out where we go from here. I left crying and more stressed out than when I went in. They did tell me that there was lots of inflammation in the right breast and several hazy areas. What does that even mean?

Kelli - if there's inflammation, you need a longer course of antibiotics, or a different type. Have you actually seen IBC? I expect the radiologist has. I do believe you need to go see a dermatologist. That's who specializes in skin problems.
