Triple Positive Breast Cancer DX Today
Hi,
I found out today my cancer is triple positive and I am terrified as I am reading very scary information.
I am not sure where to go for accurate information.
Thank you so much in advance.

Hi MominDC,
We're so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but we're really glad you've reached out for support. We know it's a scary time, but please know that being triple positive ALSO means that you have more options for medicines and treatments to treat this type of cancer.
There is a ton of great support here in the Triple Positive Group -- make sure to stop in and introduce yourself. You're sure to get some great insight and encouragement!
We hope this helps!

I am one year out from starting the chemo. It is completely normal to be freaked out and overwhelmed. In my case there was a delay in getting HER2 results and I was scheduled for surgery 3 days from when I actually got the HER2 results, so all of a sudden I went from surgery to port placement. I had just kind of found some even ground when all of a sudden my world was spinning again. Had a family member flying in to help me post-op, so she helped me post-port and helped cheer me up and that helped.
I hope you have a fairly local NCI/Academic cancer center, though in these days care should be pretty standard. Read the threads here, and the info on the main site. If you don't trust your team, get another opinion, but get it fast, because early start to chemo improves outcomes. But getting the RIGHT treatment improves it more.
I had 6 rounds of TCHP, was pretty worn out by the end, though I will say I never vomited, I had terrible constipation (I gotta be different) I did gain weight as I was warned I would. Be easy on yourself, do not be afraid to ask for help! look into Caring Bridge. My hair is growing back as thick as ever, and I am finding that even though pandemic would give me a good chance to grow it past the awkward stage I am liking it short! And at the moment it is purple, which I have always wanted to do but was afraid of the grow-out when it was really long
OH! And at work I wore wigs, which felt REALLY obvious to me. My pre-chemo hair was THICK and CURLY and LONG. Could not find any wigs (for less than thousands) anything like my hair. But even people who know me well and have known me for years thought I had cut, straightened and highlighted my hair, which I thought was a hoot! And the cheaper wigs ended up looking better!
Ask any questions! There are a lot of us in this boat.

Hi Lauren,
I’m new to the thread and came across your post. I just got my diagnosis also in July.
