Ibrance and Faslodex

Hello all-- I unfortunately was just diagnosed with a recurrence after 7 years. You can see from my profile down below I was 'lucky' with an oncotype of 2 and low low chance of a recurr--- Took Arimidex for 5 years. No chemo or rads. Now I have a upper breast area tumor 1.3, and he has me starting Ibrance and FAslodex. Sooo..

This seems to be a pretty common combo-- worried about mouth sore side effects among others- how long after starting did you start any side effects?

They say if it works Ill be on this --- forever. How can you stay on Ibrance forever? Seems harsh on the body for a long time.

Any thoughts on any of this, you are all welcome to chime in!! They are leaving the tumor in to monitor its growth or decrease.

You might want to take a look at the thread titled "Ibrance" -- it's at https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topics/...

There are a lot of supportive people there, and some of us are on faslodex with Ibrance, others with AIs. Lots of info about side effects, etc. but it's a very active (and supportive) thread and so you'd better find a comfortable place to read.

Different people have different side effects, and some come and go, so it's hard to identify. I've been on Ibrance since last August. I've had mouth sores several times, but not regularly. I've had diarrhea maybe 3 times while on Ibrance. I think far and away the worst side effect is the overwhelming fatigue that just seems to appear.

Good luck with your Ibrance journey, and read that thread (and post on it). There are a lot of good people there
