“I have a potentially fatal eye cancer, so I don't want fate to boomerang on me.“
Sandy,
Exactly my feelings as well ! I’m sure we can find some very useful roles to fill in the coven 😂
-
You guys can collect the toads, eyes of newt, frog's tongues, scales of dragons, and a wolf's tooth for the cauldron!
-
Can do !!
-
Thank, you ruth!I do so love to be useful 😉 Bubble, bubble, toil, and trouble…
-
Here is a spell that shouldn't mess up our Karma. It doesn't harm anyone, just stops them from doing bad things.
-
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Ruth.

You ladies sustain me.

They are the prudent who leave behind yesterday's mistakes in complete self-forgiveness, but for the lessons they learned from them, and to then face each new dawn as if it were their very first.
unattributed -
Boy, you can say that again.
-
-
If that is what you were taught in your school, someone needs to be heavily reprimanded, but if you decided this since you became a Trump lover/supporter you belong in your own little box of rocks.
-
This one was so true it took my breath away.

ruthbru: can a Solitary Practitioner come visit your Coven? You guys can supply the cauldron items, I'll bring my almond flour moon cakes and mead for The Cakes And Ale afterwards. Oops. Wait. Nope. Can't. The border is closed. What has become of the collective witches who did the Binding Spell every new moon after Trump got in? Maybe it worked. To some extent.
I have to admit I do scream "Die.Die" these days. I used to just say "Go away" I have a friend who was tormented by her boss. But rather than wish ill she would wish the boss would get a promotion or a better job, go away and leave her alone. She has a purer soul than me.
There is a tale that the New Forest witches in England chanted up a spell to create bad weather that hobbled the Spanish Armada, There is a pleasurable read called "Lammas Night" by Katherine Kurtz. The witches are drawn from different covens across Britain in this WWII drama got together to conjure up spells to stop Hitler. There are also chapters that go back to Queen Elizabeth the First and Francis Drake. It would make a great movie or mini-series.
IllinoisLady: keep posting those great memes, cartoons. They never fail to maker me laugh or sigh.

I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the meme about former Pres. Carter and former FLOTUS Rosalind. It must have been more difficult for someone ( whether you liked him or not, although I did ) like Jimmy Carter, who in my eyes was and is a much more honest Christian than most, to go into the one place where you will be assailed by probably those who are quite full of iniquities and underhanded motives much of the time. Somehow I keep thinking he might have prayed deeply every morning for the good Lord to help him get through his day with the people who would possibly try his patience, morals and conscience almost all the time.
At points, no matter how good you may be, I imagine you have to trade off some of those good parts of you just because you almost can't do anything else in keeping the ship half way level.

I know it would never happen but I really feel when someone ( anyone and I don't care which party ) gets this screwed up and says and does things like Johnson, they should have to produce some sort of proof of their statements or be held accountable in some other way. He is in deep denial of truth, heavy pretense for his own reasons, or gone totally over the edge.
-
IllinoisLady: I always thought Jimmy Carter was a a truly good human being. He behaved the way so many Christians pretend to behave. The "dark forces" could never let him continue. So they screwed him over the Iran hostage taking. It was America's loss, and unfortunately - a loss for the world.
-
Elderberry, if we are a Halloween Witches Coven, then borders won't be a problem. We can fly to where we want to gather on our brooms.
Jimmy Carter is a truly good & moral person. Christian in the best sense of the word, unlike the charlatans who have hijacked much of the 'Christian' church.

pingpong, Tiffany did indeed get full upper & lower implants, at taxpayer expense. ("Happened" during the hiatus between seasons).
Mazel tov to the Carters. I hear that only 1% of couples make it to their 50th, and fewer than 0.1% make it to their 60th (called "Diamond" as an anniversary). 75th birthdays are "Diamond Jubilees." I wonder what 75 is for an anniversary--platinum? emerald? Or something even more precious. (A year and a half ago that would have been toilet paper).
I must admit that in 1976, leading up to the DNC, Carter was not my first choice (I was a Udall delegate to my state's convention); as a secular Reform Jew, I feared his declared "born-again" Christianity might endanger separation of church & state. But after our legislative district's Dem. chairwoman (also Jewish) switched from Udall to Carter on the eve of the DNC, we all united behind him. I heard him speak in Seattle a couple of times, and met him once, and knew he would be something special--living his religion without shoving it down anyone's throat. When he lost after only one term, I was sure that history would remember him far more kindly than the voters ever did. I was right. Met him again at a book-signing in 2017. Long(er) may he & Rosalynn live. And I wish they could award the Nobel Peace Prize to the same person more than once.

Success is the doing, not the getting; in the trying, not the triumph. Success is a personal standard, reaching for the highest that is in us, becoming all that we can be. If we do our best, we are a success.
Zig Ziglar -
Never will cease to amaze me that anyone would believe the orange thing could get back into the WH. Then again, I do know there are plenty of lazy people who will run with the lemmings in order to avoid ever having to do any self reflection or heaven forbid work at getting full information on something. JMHO but their pool of bliss is more like a cesspool and no place for a normal human being to be.

IllinoisLady: Other Repugnicians have said "no one brought weapons" - like a gun is the only thing that can be called a weapon. We have all seen spy movies where our hero uses a pencil as a fatal device. It boggles the mind. The Plains Indians believed insanity was contagious. They were so so right How can so many people be so deranged!?
ChiSandy: If you count living together 2 years before marriage my DH and I will be 50 years this November. Trying to decide which one of us is the most tolerant and saintly. Ha ha. We hold hands in bed before we fall asleep. Bless Jimmy and Rosalynn.
ruthbru: I can see the headlines "strange objects that looked like women on brooms were seen in the night sky over _________" fill in the blank. Unidentified Ariel Phenomenon. Ha ha
