Please tell me @ your experience with Cold Laser Therapy. I’ve had two treatments and am thinking of purchasing my own laser. I’m not sure if it’s working or if it’s “in my head” but my joint pain from Tamoxifen has lessened.... not sure @ the Lymphedema yet.... too soon to tell. Thank you all for any input you can give me!

wulfgirl - can you tell us a little more about the procedure - what it does & how often & etc. Are you doing this for LE? And maybe you've had a good side effect on your joint pain?

Can you go to "my profile" and add your diagnosis & treatment so we can see the whole picture?

    Hi MinusTwo,

Actually, I learned about Cold Laser Therapy or Low Level Laser Therapy by doing an internet search for alternative methods to treat Lymphedema. I came across Cold Laser Therapy and then I did a search on this community for Cold Laser Therapy. I found a chiropractor in my area that uses this method and I went in for a consultation. It works for some people, and for others it might not, but I thought I'd give it a try.

It's basically a little hand held gadget that looks like a flashlight, but it's a laser. The attendant holds the device on your affected area for 30 seconds or so and then moves it to another area.... where ever you need it. I can't explain it all very well, but if you Google it, you can find more info out about it.

Like I said, I don't know for sure if it helps or not, but it's worth a try. I'm also considering purchasing my own device.

I also found this YouTube video that was interesting to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZtBkqoo-1U

I wasn't able to add this treatment on my profile because it wasn't one of the options, but maybe I don't know how to do it. Hope this helps! :)

wulfgirl4 - I hope the laser therapy works, let us know how it goes. Also interested in the lymph node transfer surgery. Hoping as tumor shrinks that the lymph system will heal itself - even if they say it won't. Sometimes surgery seems like a good alternative, but other times not.
