I just completed my first week of rads (imrt). I’m starting to have pain under my armpit. I do have a scar there from lymph node removal after a bilateral. Has anyone else had this?

It totally depends on what kind of pain - and there are various issues. You should discuss it with your RO.

It could be anything from irritation at the node incision site to pulled tissue there as you stretch to keep your arms raised. As Minus Two said, you need to discuss it with your RO.

Yes! Today was treatment day #23 and it is the Worst section of my skin by far. I have to sleep with my arm raised all night and I keep gauze on it to prevent it from rubbing on my clothes or anything. Nurses have told me that the armpit and under the breast can get bad because of the skin folds, friction etc. Definitely talk to them. They have good tips for pain management and skin care. I take ibuprofen in addition to the topicals because it’s gotten pretty painful....especially at night for some reason.
