I was diagnosed in 2018 at the age of 31. Because I have 3 kids, and wasn't planning on any more, after chemo and radiation, I opted to have ovaries removed and take Arimidex rather than take Tamoxifen.

I have been taking the Arimidex since around September 2019. I don't know if the side effects (mostly back/joint pain and muscle weakness) are from the meds or just menopause at 33 LOL....Anyways, I have been reading some of the posts on here to familiarize myself with alternatives to taking Arimidex. My questions are:

-Is there a special protocol of various supplements that you have found works for you?

-If taking supplements, is there a specific company you purchase from that can guaranty the quality of the supplement?

-Any tips/Comments/experiences good or bad that you can offer!

    @Each_day_2018,

    I am new to this as well. Others will provide thorough information-I simply keep reading and reading and reading these posts, and taking notes to take to my ND this week. I'm sorry you have been diagnosed so young. Sounds like you have done everything you can to be well. My gut is telling me that there may be an alternative to a medicine that makes me feel not so good, and may cause other long term issues.

    In the posts, people recommend specific supplements which helps immensely. There's a lot of information out there. Keep reading.

    All the best to you :)

    What is the criteria for knowing something has “worked” for anyone?

    Melissa - Something that doesn't make one nauseous, cause headaches, etc. There seems to be a lot of supplements, so a summary of certain items at night vs. in the morning or don't take this one at the same time as that one...those sorts of things

    I know it's not a one size fits all, but I am open to input from those who have experienced some alternative solutions. Have you tried anything that has worked particularly well for you?
