Breast MRI- concerned

Hi Everyone, so for the last 10 plus years I have had many breast lumps, biopsies, mammograms and ultrasounds. I have had lumps removed almost every other year. Nothing has been cancer thus far. I am 38 yo and the anxiety alone is horrible and never really goes away. Well recently I found 2 more lumps, the last ones I found and had biopsies of was 6/14/2019. So almost a year later, yep it sucks! I had my appointment with my surgeon on Tuesday and she scheduled me for an MRI. I have never had an MRI. My usual process is mammogram and ultra sound then biopsy. However, she skipped that all together. I also found out Tuesday that I have extremely dense breast. Hmmm I thought they would have told me that a long time ago.
I’m wondering if anyone else has had an experience like this?
I’m also wondering if anyone was in the same situation and got a positive diagnosis after the MRI?
Yep I am nervous to say the least but hoping to hear others experiences be it a positive or negative result after MRI.

Wow, so young to have gone through all of that already! Glad to hear everything so far has been benign. I don't read anything in your post that is overly alarming. I know the anxiety though.

The MRI is just like having the other tests (mammo + US). Once you receive the results it will either be fine, a 6 month follow up, or another biopsy. The MRI can't actually detect cancer, just pictures, which may or may not lead to a biopsy, which is the only way to know for sure what it is they are seeing and what you are feeling. Thank you, it gets to be a bit overwhelming. My surgeon stated it’s difficult and almost impossible to see abnormalities on 3D mammo and ultra sound because of the density. I didn’t know that my breasts were that dense. I’m happy that I’m getting an MRI so that we can see any abnormalities and go from that. I think the unknown is the hard part. I will keep you posted. My MRI is scheduled for July 2nd but I’m on the wait list to get in sooner if possible.

I think dense breasts are pretty common, especially at your age. Sucks that your appt isn't til July, that's a long time to wait, so try to stay away from Google!
