Metastatic spread to T10 spine

I am 67 years old and just found out that the small mass on T10 (1.7cm) spine, previously written off as non cancer in 2017, one year after in 2016, I went through 16 rounds of chemo (AC/Taxol); right breast mastectomy with reconstruction and 30 days targeted radiation. I was told we would just watch it thru CT and PET SCAN. In April 2020, small growth measures from 1.7 to 3.5cm; biopsy confirms metastasis. I have no pain and slight change in bone mass.. from T-score -0.3 to -0.8 Between 2014-2020. About to enter a regiment of Verzenio, anastrozole and zometa..,I've been on letrozole since 2016.

After reading about side effects of Verzenio, wondering if anyone whose case is similar to mine is on a different regiment that may not be as challenging ie. severe diarrhea, bone pain, possible kidney and liver failure etc? Any clinical trials or more recent meds that anyone is aware of?

My situation is not like yours however it seems as though you may be in the group of oligometastatic folks who have just a single site of disease. Sometimes, treatment with intent to 'cure' is the goal. Has anyone discussed radiation with you?

If you are not satisfied with the regimen being suggested, get a second opinion. Since you survived chemo with the red devil, Verzenio should be easy! Keep in mind that nobody gets all the side effects possible...

As a class, the CDK 4/6 inhibitors are among the newest meds out there unless, for instance, your tumor has been shown to have a specific mutation such as PIK 3. Sorry you have to deal with this but you are wise to educate yourself and ask questions. Hopefully someone with more pertinent experience will come along to offer advice.

    Thanks vlnrph,

I have follow up with my ONC tomorrow to discuss options including targeted radiation. Thanks for introduction Of oligometastatic, I’ve not heard of it but will read and ask about it

Thanks also for putting things into perspective and relativity.. I tend to be one who can go with flow with a positive tolerance level, but want to explore all options.
