Has anyone had very bad leg pain while on chemo? I’m currently on AC and do get the Neulasta shots. I had my first AC last Thursday. I’ve been having TERRIBLE leg pain. Mostly behind my knees but it’s so bad I literally can’t sleep at night. I slept a total of maube two hours last night I soak in the bathtub about 4 times a day. It’s the only thing that has helped so far. I do take claratin but I guess it’s not working. The pain is there during the day but at night it is so much worse I can’t get any relief to sleep. Didn’t you have bad leg pain? What’s helped? Is there something my oncologist can prescribe me for it? I need some relief!!

Call your MO. There probably is something s/he can prescribe.

I am taking Tamoxifen and I had all the side effects before I finally feel better. One of the pain was on my leg.

Blood clots block the circulation I believe, I have my own cubbing set and I use it on my leg. I can not live without it.

When it is really bad, I use my own pin to take the blood clots from outside using cupping.

That’s just flat out dangerous. If you truly have clots in your legs, they can move to your heart, and kill you. I had clots in my leg, and lungs. I have a vena cava filter to prevent the clots in legs from getting to my heart. Spent 3 very scarey days in hospital

I am on a blood thinner for life. Even took tamoxifen while on it.

I know this is way late, but in case it helps anyone searching due to similar issues... I had awful leg pain during AC, Neulasta was likely the cause per my onc, and they recommended I take Claritin (I took generic) and it seemed to help a lot. Since they didn't know exactly why that works, I'm a little less likely to take those tiny allergy pills now, but hey, I'll take what helps. Best of health to you all!

For some people, craniosacral therapy (CST) can help with neuropathy and distal pain. You can probably find a good practitioner online for your area. CST is also a gentle, non-invasive body work technique, so it is safe to receive during active cancer treatments.

As for cupping, it is strictly contraindicated for areas with DVT and clotting risk. If it's just lymphatic congestion, cupping is wonderful. But if you have actual blood clots, that's a life-threatening condition that needs immediate medical attention. Please be safe. DVTs are nothing to fool around with.
