Nauseousness back after feeling better for a week

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer early this year, had a mastectomy back in February and had my first chemo (TCHP) 3 weeks ago. I had severe diarrhea and some vomiting for up to 2 weeks after my chemo but I had started to feel better this past week. Unfortunately since last night, I feel nauseous again and also have a headache. I am wondering if this is chemo related or stress related? Has anyone felt 100% better after chemo only to have nausea symptoms back? Thank you. My next chemo is in 2 days

I just had my first chemo last Monday been feeling nauseous and gassy since then. Also food tastes horrible. I hope it goes away. I hope your symptoms get b

Anita212– were you given IV Meds during your chemo treatment for nauseousness? Were you given meds to take after chemo to control nauseousness?

Yes, I was given meds (zofran and compazin) to control nausea. I took them until I felt nauseas for about 10 days. Last week I stopped feeling nauseas so I stopped taking Anti nausea meds. I was feeling better for 7 days and the nausea is now back without any chemo and I am wondering if this is common. Thank yoh

Anita212– I would speak with your MO team. My doctor and NP told me they had many ways to control nauseousness and that I shouldn’t be experience nausea or vomiting.

I was on a different chemo regime that you are. For my treatments, I was given premeds with chemo to control nauseousness and I was given Zofran and compazine pills which I took as directed, even setting a timer to wake up during the night to take those meds. I took them for 4-5 days.

I also found that I had to eat something every 3 hours as I was less nauseous with food in my stomach. I drank ginger ale and wore SeaBands on my wrists to fight queasiness.

Maybe you would benefit from chemo administered slower?
