Hi Everyone,

I’m only 15 months out of diagnosis. Just had a clean petscan 2 weeks ago. I’m just wondering if any of you experience fatigue and breathlessness months out of active treatment ?

How is your iron level? Iron deficiency anemia is one thing that can cause fatigue and breathlessness.

Yes, experienced lots of fatigue and some breathlessness. My nurse told me that this wasn't unusual. The physical

stress and emotional stress was overwhelming. I gained 70 pounds during treatment so I feel this caused a lot of the breathlessness. As time went by I was better, along with going on a diet and exercising. It should get better but the fatigue is something I've dealt with since a year of treatment.

Feel certain you'll improve with time, meanwhile discuss this with your doctor, of course.

How breathless is breathless? My husband experienced breathlessness with a pulmonary embolism, which can be dangerous. If the breathlessness doesn't decrease over time, you might want to check in with your PCP. Hope it's nothing!

In addition to the great suggestions above , consider repeating a heart echo. I see you had adriamycin which is cardiotoxic.

Also left side radiation can cause some heart damage.

If your breathlessness is sever or of a fairly sudden onset, 911.

Otherwise, I'd sugg go to dr. & have full blood tests (thyroid, b12, iron esp, cbc) and get a heart echo.

thank you so much for your comments and suggestions. Will set an appointment with cardio. It’s not so severe and happens at night . So sometimes I wonder if it’s anxiety that’s causing it or if it could be something else. A few days ago, I just felt so tired in the morning when I woke up and needed to rest to catch my breath, so that kinda got me worried. Will have this checked. Thanks so much

Also have your thyroid checked. I had a feeling of breathlessness when lying down on my back and fatigue all day before I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
