Hi everyone,

So I’m really scared and I’m trying really hard to stay positive. I’m almost 11 weeks postpartum & breastfeeding. 3/9 I thought I had mastitis so I went on antibiotics. 4/11 I delevoped a bump on my breast. It is still there and is bigger than before. They thought it was mastitis again and I went on a second dose of antibiotics. Both times I was on antibiotics I never had a fever though. All the ultrasounds say: edema, possible abscess forming, edema, nothing, and now they’re saying edema. Currently, it is to the right of my nipple and is the size of a half dollar. It is dark where the lump is, the skin next to it is red, and it feels squishy in the middle. It’s very painful and tender if I touch it. They want to rule out Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I’m terrified. I’m scared. I’m only 26 and I have three little kids. I don’t know what to do. Biopsy is Thursday. I’m heartb

Before you terrify yourself, it might be an abscess. Just go in on Thursday and see what they say. If it is something scary, we'll all be here to walk you through it. There are so many good doctors and so many excellent treatment regimens. You can deal with it when and if you need to.

I hope everything goes well for you Thursday. Let us know.
