aloha, I have been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer with Mets to the ribs and pelvis In March 2020. The 12cm mass in my pelvis is why I am getting Doxil. Hopefully the Doxil will shrink the tumor which will subside the ascites and pedal edema. I received my first Doxil tx on May 13, 2020. Got zofran IV before and haven't had n/v yet. The next day I had my 3rd paracentesis done(4000ml). Then on 5/15/20 I am getting my first unit of PRBC transfusion. I just want to thank all who have shared their stories. They are all very insightful,

brand new here. Finished the first round of treatment in March 2019. I really thought I’d have more time between reoccurrences. Sounds naïve I know. Found three hot lymph nodes and growth in the nodule on one of my lungs week before last . Have a new treatment team this time around. Wasn’t super satisfied with my first medical oncologist, so I changed to a teaching hospital, Loyola, in December 2018. It’s time to see if I made the right decision. I sit down with my new team on Wednesday. So sad.

laniek. Could you explain a little more about the pelvic tumor? I usually think of bone when I here pelvic. By you symptoms it sound more like the tumor is in your abdomen. Acites happens a lot with liver mets.

I'm three years out from DX of MBC w mets to liver, lung and chest. I've never had doxil.. There is a thread for Doxil. I post most on the liver mets thread.💞

my tumor is in my pelvis. Just had a CT of chest, abd, and pelvis. The CT showed Mets to the ribs and pelvic bones. Liver and lungs were free and clear of CA. I saw the Doxil thread and find it very enlightening. Thanks for sharing your info. Aloh
